Symantec Backup Exec Admin Database Connection Lost!

Recently installed the May patches on our BackupExec server (Server 2012 R2 Running Backup Exec 15 Version 14.2), rebooted, and soon started having issues with the database losing connection.  The specific error found in the Application log was:

    Event ID: 33152
     Adamm Database Event: Database Connection Lost!
     Error= E_PVL_DB_LOST_CONNECTION
     Server="servername"
     Active Node = ""
     Instance = "BkupExec"
     et. al.

Tried rebooting the server to no avail.  So, did some digging online and these were the two steps that fixed it.

1.) Update the Symantec Endpoint Protection client as I noticed it was running a slightly older one
2.) The kicker that I believe did the deal
     A.) Within Symantec Backup Exec's installation directory there is a BEUtility.exe
     B.) Run BEUtility.exe and get confirm scary warning about only running it with guidance of Symantec technical support
     C.) Click on "All Media Servers"
     D.) Click on your Backup Exec server's name
     E.) In the lower left are several actions that you can take
     F.) First I checked the consistency of the database and it failed that check
     G.) Next, I ran the database repair  ***NOTE: this step took quite a while to complete; be patient
     H.) I tried launching closing the BEUtility.exe app when this process did complete and launching the Backup Exec frontend, but it still did not work and gave the above error
     I.) Reboot and then everything came up and churned along happily backing up once more :-)

     Hope this helps another individual with the same issue.
