Office 2011 Autosave Location

Ever write a 16 page paper in Word, never hit save, and then have your Mac crash?  Well, if this is you here are the steps to check and see if Microsoft's autosave feature has saved your butt.

1.) The location you need to look in is: /Users home directory/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Office 2011 AutoRecovery
***Note that the home directory should be /Users/username
2.) The crux in accessing this location is that the ~/Library/ (~ being a terminal reference to the users home directory) is a hidden folder.  So, you either need to do some command-line kungfu or use this one simple hint to open that location.
3.) Open a new Finder window
4.)  Hit the key combination Command, Shift, G
***This opens the Go to folder dialogue
5.) Enter ~/Library/
6.) When you click on "Go" this will open up the user's hidden Library folder and allow you to navigate on down to the /Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Office 2011 AutoRecovery folder where the file should be residing IF the autosave feature was working properly.
