Office:Mac and Adobe Flash/Air Critical Updates
As if Microsoft's Windows patch Tuesday for this month (4 critical and 3 important updates) wasn't enough, now Mac users are faced with critical Microsoft Office updates as well as Silverlight and Windows/Mac users alike need to patch Adobe Flash and Air.
To make it short and sweet:
1.) Office for mac 2008 and 2011 both suffer from a bug that could allow an attacker write a malicious HTML e-mail message that, when opened, could overwrite your systems memory with malignant code. In addition, there are several bug fixes included in the 2011 patch.
2.) Adobe Flash is getting it's fourth patch in the last 4 weeks. It fixes 4 vulnerabilities to round out the trifecta of quadisms. Adobe Air, should you have it installed, is also in dire need of patching.
3.) Silverlight, much like Adobe's Flash and Air, results in an equal opportunity vulnerability platform; patch away.
