Can You Say FAT Patch Tuesday?

Twelve, count them 12, security patches are set to be released by Microsoft tomorrow; fat Tuesday.  Coincidence? Yes, but uncanny nonetheless.  These patches will address 57 security flaws, some of which are found in the most popular of Microsoft products; Internet Explorer, .NET framework, Server, and Office.
Five of these 12 flaws are rated critical; Remote Code Execution vulnerabilities with potential for creation of an internet worm.  The others are typical DOS (Denial of Service) and Privilege Escalation attacks.  So, if your company uses MS products (especially IE with the potential for Drive By Download attacks being pretty high) make sure to start testing these updates tomorrow and deploying them; One, Some, Many.  Depending on how many platforms you manage, it could take a while just get them all.
More information can be found at Microsoft's Advance Notification Security Bulletin site for February 2013.
