Windows Vista Main Stream Support, Ended

To those who follow this type of stuff, it is no surprise that Vista has reached the EOL (End of Life) for "Mainstream Support".  What does this mean?  Basically, you can only get Security patches from Microsoft here on out.  Unless, you have a commercial support contract for bug fixes and other such updates.  So, it is not like Vista is at it's complete EOL, but 5 years down, 5 to go.
I say that because MS has decided on a 10 year support cycle for OS's going forth.  However, user demand drives the actuality of this.  Will they do in turn what they have with Windows XP?  XP's EOL was supposed to be 2012, but user demand forced Microsoft's hand into extending said support.  Will they stick to 2014 for XP's final days and 2017 for Vista's?  One can only hope :-)
