April Fools Pranks
As always, the tech sector takes its pranks seriously; especially April Fools. Perhaps the best at it, Google has two major offerings this year; one that's actually usable.
The first being 8 bit google maps. Harkening back to the game Dragon Warrior on the original 8 bit NES, you can now browse google maps in all that 8 bit glory http://maps.google.com/?t=8#bmb=1
Their next offering is Google tap. http://www.google.com/tap
Who wouldn't prefer Morse Code for text input over these silly onscreen keyboards? What's morse code for the smiley again ;-)
Think geek, as usual, has their own offerings. http://www.thinkgeek.com/. Just go to their page today and you will find their gag items front and center. The unique thing about some of Thinkgeeks items is that they will actually come to fruition. Let's just hope it's not the game of thrones fire and blood perfume. However, I would like the Admiral Akbar singing bass.
